Warning about computer virus infections on company PCs and spam emails
We have confirmed that a computer within our company has been infected with the computer virus "Emotet" and that suspicious emails have been sent to our affiliated companies.
We are currently conducting virus checks on all computers in the company.
Emotet is a type of spam known as "spoofed email," which is characterized by using parts of the email, such as the name, email address, or content of a real person, to make it appear as if the email is a reply from that person.
When infected with the computer virus Emotet, an information-stealing module is downloaded and various information may be sent to an external server.
If you receive an email with a suspicious sender's email address or message body, it may be infected with a virus or be the result of unauthorized access.
Please be extremely careful and refrain from opening any attachments or clicking any URLs in the email body, and please delete the email itself.
In the future, there is a possibility that spoofed emails may be sent pretending to be from our company or our employees.
We hope that you will not only receive emails from us, but also
Please be extremely careful about such spam emails.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and concern caused to you this time.
