The Nonoji Baby Food Spoon was developed with the desire to make a baby's first bite of food a wonderful one.
Nonoji offers the Nonoji Soft Spoon, which was developed as an "eating spoon." Until then, typical spoons were influenced by Western culture and had deep spoon sections designed for scooping soup. The Nonoji Soft Spoon is a spoon suited to the Japanese food culture, where rice is often eaten with a spoon. The bottom of the spoon section is shallow, has been smoothed with a rubbing process, and has a rim that fits comfortably on the lips. The spoon is also asymmetrical, allowing for smooth movement to suit either dominant hand.
The impetus for developing the Nonoji Baby Food Spoon came from numerous complaints from nursery teachers and parents about their children's constant spitting out of food. This led us to wonder if we could apply the same functions of the Nonoji Soft Spoon to babies.
Babies dislike spoons that cause uncomfortable friction, have sharp edges, or have a spoon that is too deep for their delicate mouths.Furthermore, spoons with a long, vertical shape that are inserted too far into the mouth do not fit the depth of the baby's mouth, which can result in increased nausea and spilled food.
To solve this problem, we gave the spoon a round shape that fits gently on a baby's lips. The rimmed spoon, carefully polished at our factory in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, is smooth and easy to put in the mouth, and has been well received as babies eat willingly without hesitation. The small, round, shallow spoon allows for the right amount of food to be placed on the spoon, making it perfect for babies to eat, which has been appreciated as it reduces spills.
The long, curved handle is designed for ease of use by caregivers and parents, while the wide handle makes it easy for babies to grasp and makes a smooth transition to toddler cutlery.
Just as we are committed to ensuring the safety of baby food,
-- Types of ingredients, cooking methods, broth, hygiene, allergies, etc. --
We hope that people will also pay attention to the spoon they put in their mouths .
