Nonoji develops products based on the philosophy that "we want people to eat lots of delicious vegetables and become healthy."

Carrots are often listed as a vegetable that children dislike. No matter how many creative ways we try, it's difficult to get rid of their dislike. How can we get children to eat as many carrots as possible?
So we took note of Okinawa, where carrot consumption is high, and there is a home-cooked dish in particular called "ninjin shirishiri," which features carrots as the main ingredient and is popular among children.
Okinawa has its own special grater for gratering vegetables. Nonoji took inspiration from this and began developing its own unique grater - one that can be used for gratering other vegetables as well, and is easy to use, hygienic, safe, and durable.

First, we developed a new dome-shaped blade with coarse and fine grit sizes. We calculated the number of holes in the blade, along with the amount of force applied when grating, the length and speed of the stroke, and repeated trial production until we found the optimal number. By placing these on both sides, one blade can grate vegetables to two different thicknesses, allowing you to use both sides depending on the dish. It also saves space when stored.
For hygiene, it is made of 430 stainless steel, which is easy to clean and does not transfer color. For safety, the grip and tip are made of elastomer, which allows for stable, non-slip grating.
In addition, this racket-like shape is designed to be durable and will not warp even when food is pressed against it.
The Nonoji Salad Grater was created with this kind of attention to detail in its design and materials.

Its greatest feature is its texture. When grated with a dome blade, which is not a sharp blade, the moisture in the ingredients is absorbed, resulting in a moist, fluffy, and crisp texture.
Also, when you grate a carrot, you can feel the sugar content as it is, and the taste impression is completely different from carrots that are cut cleanly with a knife.
All the employees who tried it were amazed. It was at this moment that we were convinced that carrots could truly become the star of the dish.

Other vegetables...grate radish, cucumber, etc. for a quick salad, or grate burdock root for kinpira. The fine grate is also recommended for ginger and lemon peel.
The jagged cuts allow the flavor of seasonings to penetrate easily, making it useful for low-salt cooking.

Its popularity was sparked by word of mouth from loyal customers, and it has now become one of Nonoji's signature cooking implements.
